Andrew is currently studying at Brooklyn College with the pursuit of the Arts in Music and the profession of an Audio Engineer.
He is constantly driven by a hard work ethic and always looking for new opportunities and challenges and he is highly experienced in recording and production compared to peers of the same age.
Freddy Benny is a music alias that began in 2021. Freddy Benny, better known as Andrew Lopez thought this was a step forward in his musical journey as he went from a bedroom producer to a musician/composer. This evolved his creativity and expanded his views towards making music. The Freddy Benny alias is focused heavily on the mixture of Latin and electronic sounds including bossa nova, house music, and reggaeton. Initially, Andrew started to make music back in 2015 uploading amateur tracks onto Soundcloud. These tracks were mostly just for fun and nothing too serious. He made these tracks using the famous music software called FL Studio. It got serious when he later switched to Apple’s Logic Pro. From there he had to learn to use the software but it did not take him long to start making full-length compositions. It took a while for Freddy Benny to be put on the map until 2023 when he released his track “Solecito” in April of that year. When Andrew released the track he had no idea it would explode the way it did. It garnered so much attention that it even reached as far as Germany and got played on one of their biggest radio stations. This alone gave Andrew the motivation to keep making more music. Andrew plans to release an EP in 2024 that will include a lot of unreleased music he’s kept under his belt throughout these past few years.
