For my capstone project, I will work on an EP that is set to release next year. It will consist of three to four songs dedicated to Latin music and house music. The two genres define this EP to showcase that it is possible to blend both genres. I will use many percussive instruments since both genres focus on a specific rhythm that defines each other. The exaggerated use of samples in house music skyrocketed in popularity because of its ease of use, accessibility, and recognizability. Some even being sampled from the Latin genre itself.  The tools I will be mainly using for this project are my Digital Audio Workstation, sampling websites, and sample libraries. Both genres are sonically bright and upbeat; they are songs akin to DJ sets at parties. I want to spread of feeling excitement and that life doesn’t always have to be normal, there is a way to escape from reality and have a good time once in a while.
